I was sweeping the kitchen floor this evening when I noticed Grace's pink cowgirl boots looked pretty gosh darn cute sitting next to the (open!) sliding glass door. The sun was setting and the golden sunlight was spilling into our house and the pink cowgirl boots in the sun just made me happy. The grimy sliding glass door on the other hand....well let's just say that I'll be cleaning that tomorrow. Yikes!

March 11: Day 63

Today is a very busy day which is why you're getting this very so-so photo of my very cute shoes that I'm packing to attend my friend Niki's wedding in Denver tomorrow. Since all I'll have is the HP mini laptop (i.e. No Photoshop!) I won't be able to share the next couple day's photos until Monday. See you then!

March 10: Day 62

I'm feeling completely lethargic and useless today. I hate being sick. I've spent 99% of the day on the couch with my feet up. Looking at my cute slippers I was inspired to take a photo of them and thought it was especially fitting since I haven't taken them off today. In fact I went out in public wearing my super cute slippers today and have worn them to pick up my daughter from preschool twice this week. It's a good thing so few people actually pay attention to footwear.

February 9: Day 33

Today's photo was taken this morning at our MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) meeting. It was our dress up day and I tried to get a few photos of the women dressed in their finery. It's one heck of a challenge to try and dress up and look good and be at a function with kids in tow before 9am! I even broke out my heels. This photo is of my favorite pair of shoes I saw. I just had to get a photo of them on our "red carpet"!

February 3: Day 27

This afternoon when I picked Grace up from preschool she pleaded with me to let her play outside when we got home and I reluctantly agreed (it was wet...what else is new?). After we got home I went to grab my camera and when I got back to the living room she had already stripped down to her underwear and announced that she was going to wear dress up clothes outside. I decided to negotiate and said she could wear her tutu but only if she wore leggings of some variety. She chose to wear her pink polka dotted Baby Legs (tell me she's not the only 4 year old who still wears them) and grudgingly agreed to wear a coat. I vetoed the plastic dress up shoes and told her to wear her pink converse or cowgirl boots (her only non-mary jane type shoes). She chose the boots. Part of the negotiating to play outside was that she was going to have to let me take some photos of her. She wasn't too excited about that, but then she saw her reflection in the sliding glass door behind me and started dancing like nobody's business in order to watch herself. She did all sorts of dance moves including pirouettes, leaps, and fancy toe walking. It was quite impressive. I was focusing on her pink boots and they didn't stop moving!

January 22: Day 15

The kids and I are all wearing Converse today which inspired me to catch this shot on our small cement patio. We're literally within six feet of the house. Since I had to press the button I had to keep the camera pretty close to us, one of these days I should really get one of those remote clickers. Until then I do gymnastics to get these sort of shots. I also used my Gorillapod tripod to get my camera up off the ground a few inches. That really helped. The hardest part was really making my two kids stand still next to me when all they wanted to do was make a break for it!
