July 31: Day 205

Sun flare! What's better then sun flare? Sun flare with blackberries! I happen to adore blackberry cobbler and so I've been watching the blackberries behind my house ripen with great anticipation. Of course in order to get any of these tempting berries I'll have to don a hazmat suit to avoid the poison oak that grows right alongside it. Anyone have some poison oak-free blackberries I could pick? Pretty please?

July 29: Day 203

I took this shot in Pacific City as I was hunting around for good family photo locations before the family photo session I did that evening. I've been to Pacific City a hundred times or more and I've never seen this boardwalk but now I know how to find it again!

July 28: Day 202

This Volkswagon Bug sits on our office window sill. My husband actually took a photo of it in his high school photography class. He made it look like his Yoda figurine was actually standing next to it. I didn't go for such realism.

I took this photo before we left on our long drive home. I find I'm more creative before a 9 hour car drive.

Today is my husband's 30th birthday! We celebrated by going out to dinner at the Macaroni Grill in Boise where he got a free slice of chocolate cake. Happy Birthday Sweetie!

July 21: Day 195

I snuck this photo in right before we left for the Wednesday night rodeo. I swear I didn't pose him. The kids were sitting on this rock in the front yard and I asked Grace to get up and move and he stayed put and even smile AT me! I know, I'm still in shock too.

July 20: Day 194

What's rodeo week without a cowgirl photo shoot? I didn't get a chance to get photos of Grace in all her cute rodeo outfits (of course some were the ones I lost on my bad CF card...) but I did get these before she left to go to the Miss Rodeo Idaho luncheon with Oma. She *loved* seeing all the princesses!

July 18: Day 192

After a long day of driving to Idaho I let the kids run through Opa and Oma's sprinklers. I figured they deserved some fun after sitting in the car all day! We hadn't unpacked yet and it was kind of impromptu...so the kids ran through the sprinklers in their clothes (well eventually Ethan was down to just his diaper). This is Grace's feet on the driveway when they were all done.

July 16: Day 190

We sold the toddler bed and crib on Craigslist this week and I made a run up to Ikea to buy bunk bed mattresses and bedding for the kids' new bunk beds my father in law made. We let the kids try them out tonight and it's a good thing we didn't decide to fit two twin beds in their room because there would be NO floor space!

July 15: Day 189

I came across some patio furniture at Fred Meyers that was a good buy and was small enough to actually fit on our small patio. I've been looking for such a set for two years so I went ahead and bought it. Then I had to figure out how to fit it all in the van which was interesting. Thank goodness I only had Ethan with me so I was able to put all but one seat in the back down in the van to make only one trip! After I spent the afternoon putting the furniture together (and losing a bolt in the grass which we still haven't found) I sat down and enjoyed a glass of lemonade Kool Aid. Refreshing.

July 12: Day 186

I took this photo on the plane ride home. I stopped in Oakland once again and after 90% of the plane unloaded the rest of us had to sit and be counted before we were allowed to move. I figured it was the perfect opportunity to take my photo of the day. Since I only had my 50mm I was pretty limited in what I could fit in my view finder. I really needed a much wider lens to work in such a small space.

July 11: Day 185

I took this photo in the hotel parking lot in San Diego. It's not quite in focus which kind of bugs me, probably because I should have bumped the ISO up so I could have a faster shutter speed. Oops.

July 10: Day 184

We spent the entire day at Disneyland! I didn't bring my nice camera because I didn't want to hurt it or lug it around all day. Even with the 50mm lens (the only lens I brought...I packed light) which is my lightest lens it was too heavy to haul so I brought my small HP point & shoot and iPhone. I took this after we got home around 11pm and I was dead on my feet. My husband was worse. Is this a sign we're getting old?

July 9: Day 183

This was my birthday shot! I spent most of my birthday traveling. I spent an hour on Max to get to the airport, flew to Oakland and then on to San Diego where my husband picked me up and drove me down to the HP site about half an hour away. Then he took me out to dinner with a few of his work friends and I shot this photo on the way back to the car before driving the hour to Anaheim. Whew!

July 8: Day 182

Sorry it's taken me so long to get caught up...I've been so busy editing photos for clients I haven't had time to edit any of my personal photos! This one was taken in my mom's backyard the night before I flew out to California to meet my husband for the weekend.

Missing 3 Days

While on vacation in Idaho last week I had a CF card failure which resulted in me losing about 200 photos which included three Project 365 photos for July 23-25. I'm at a quandry as to what I should do. Do I skip those days completely? Do I consider July 26th as Day 197 instead of Day 200? Do I take an extra three photos to share as replacement for those three days? Post a comment and/or vote in the poll.

Is this not disgusting? I found this gigantic moth laying eggs on my front window and took a photo of it because I wasn't sure anyone would believe just how huge the thing was. And then I promptly had my husband sweep the thing and it's eggs off our house. Gross!

July 5: Day 179

In my next life I want to be my cat. Boo pretty much spends her days napping on the couch and that sounds mighty fine to me. Especially compared to cleaning up puke from a car seat which is what I got to do today. Just be glad I didn't think to document that lovely event in the middle of the highway in Washington.

July 4: Day 178

This might be my favorite photo from the Fourth of July. The joy on Ethan's face from holding a sparkler is just too cute! By the way, Ethan totally fits in with the men in my family. He thinks fireworks are fantastic and went through more boxes of Pop Its then I can count. He threw his Pop Its while the guys lit the real stuff and he was quite happy. Heaven help me next year!

July 3: Day 177

If you know Ethan you know the boy loves balls. Apparently his love of balls extends to badminton because he wouldn't let go of the racket or shuttlecock all weekend. You think I'm kidding? He slept with the shuttlecock all three nights we were in Washington. I snuck a few moments with him before my cousin's graduation party and was thrilled to get this shot!

By the way, check out his shirt. Isn't it totally appropriate for a photographer's child? I couldn't resist.

July 2: Day 176

This was taken up in Maple Valley, Washington at a rental house on a lake. It was a beautiful view with a fire pit and everything! We were totally set for a good time and then the rain happened. I'm just glad I snuck this photo before running inside.

July 1: Day 175

I got to go to the movies! In case you're not aware, that's a pretty exciting thing for a stay at home mom of young children. Especially when the movie being seen is not animated. This shot was taken a little after midnight (after Eclipse!) by laying down in the parking lot and using my elbows as a tripod. Yeah, not the best but it worked.
