Today Grace ran 31 laps in 15 minutes at her school's jog-a-thon. She ran so hard she was red by the time she was done!

Day 155: February 7, 2011
I had Ethan start some of his Valentines while Grace was working on homework since he has three (yes THREE!) Valentines parties coming up. He got on a roll and finished 25 for Indoor Park and 3 for Preschool.
Day 154: February 6, 2012
The sun came out this afternoon so the kids went out to play after Grace finished her homework. I took a bunch of boring photos of a yogurt cup experimenting with white balance settings for the Momtographers group I help lead.
Day 153: February 5, 2012
I wouldn't have ventured very far from this cozy position on my bed, but we had plans in Portland to celebrate with our traditional Christmas dinner with my Mom and brother while he's home on leave. So I convalesced on my Mom's couch instead of my bed and even ate a little salmon dinner.
Day 152: February 4, 2012
I woke up at 3am this morning with a heaving stomach and the knowledge that I wasn't going to sleep any time soon. I was right, and spent the rest of the night on couch or in the bathroom until the kids woke up at which point I slumped into bed and didn't get out except for trips to the bathroom for 24 hours. Unfortunately my stomach didn't let me sleep much so I kept myself entertained by watching Hulu and Netflix on my iPhone or staring at the dusty ceiling fan. All in all, not a particularly great day. I had Grace bring me my camera and I took this photo without moving from the carefully propped angle I had been in all day. Not even the stomach flu stops me!
Day 151: February 3, 2012
We spent a few hours at OMSI with my brother today and I took several photos. This one of Ethan in the Chemistry Lab is one of my favorites though...the orange goggles are too cute!
Day 150: February 2, 2012
Grace agreed to stand still for me to practice with my 85mm lens (not usually ideal for wiggly children!) but only if she didn't have to put on shoes. So here she is standing on the edge of the patio in her socks!

Day 148: January 31, 2012
Today I was greeted out of the shower by a puke covered boy. Not a good start to the morning and definitely not what I had planned for the day. Instead of going on a desperately needed grocery trip (we were out of coffee creamer! Code red!) I spent the majority of the day in my pajamas cleaning puke, sanitizing everything, doing loads of laundry, and moving the puke bowl and Pedialyte around the house depending on where Ethan wanted to rest. Poor thing didn't even want me to turn a movie on for most of the day and didn't do a whole lot of napping either.
Day 147: January 30, 2012
I bought this bigger sized french press with birthday money and it has paid off big time. I needed more than one cup of coffee in the morning and with this I get just enough for both David and I.
Day 145: January 28, 2012
Ethan and Grace were playing Starfall on the laptop next to Daddy on the couch tonight. Ethan insisted that he get a turn and he was so concentrated on it. I took the opportunity to snap a few photos, but without using my flash (didn't want to distract them) it was pretty dark. I settled on focusing on Ethan's adorable toes.
Day 144: January 27, 2012
Ethan let me snap a few quick photos of him before we headed to a friend's house this morning. We were outside for about 60 seconds because it was COLD!
Day 143: January 26, 2012
Tonight was Ethan's last basketball practice. He struggled a few times with keeping his focus and paying attention, but tonight he was totally on task. I took a lot of photos of him in action (I may share them on the family blog at some point) and snapped this one right before we left as his official Pee Wee Basketball Photo.
Day 142: January 25, 2012
I've been spending a lot of time working on the master bedroom this week. Here's a sneak peek of the work in progress...Dexter is bathing himself on our new duvet, you can see a glimpse of the new accent wall color behind him, and a smidgen of the elliptical to the right that needs to be moved out of my way.
Day 141: January 24, 2012
Ethan brought home a bag of "Snowman Soup" from preschool today and wanted to crack into it when we got home. Turns out Snowman Soup is really hot chocolate with marshmallows and came with a candy cane stir stick. Ethan loved it despite the goofy faces he insisted on making for the camera.
Day 140: January 23, 2012
One of the best parts about David's greeting card research for work is that I get a lot more random love notes and cards. This one was originally a Valentines Day card but he modified it and I think it's way cute!
Day 138: January 21, 2012
Today I bought myself a project off Craigslist in the form of a $40 dresser. Should keep me busy for the week while David's away.
Day 137: January 20, 2012
David stopped by home for less than 24 hours between work trips which meant that we were able to have root beer floats and have family board game night!
Day 136: January 19, 2012
My sweetie surprised me by making a book out of my 2010 Project 365 for Christmas. I can now say I'm published and I own one of four copies!
Day 135: January 18, 2012
My father in law carved this beautiful wooden duck that lives in our bookcase. It started off as a high school graduation present, then a college graduation present, and eventually was finished in time for my husband's masters degree. Good thing David went to school so long!
Day 129: January 12, 2012
Ethan has the most adorable little boy eye lashes. I took this photo in the van while we were waiting for Grace to get out of school. Ethan and I spend a lot of time in the van together.
Day 128: January 11, 2012
Ethan let me take a few photos of him after lunch today. He is way too familiar with how my camera works, he was insistent on making some silly faces and wouldn't switch to a happy face until he heard the click of my shutter. I can't fool him!
Day 127: January 10, 2012
Another pretty morning in my front yard. Same tree as usual too! I thought these two seed pods hanging together looked pretty cute.
Day 124: January 7, 2012
Grace asked me to sign her up for basketball last summer and was super excited to get to play this year. I would never have pegged her as the basketball type of girl, but I would never discourage her from an activity that she's repeatedly asked to try. Especially at this age! She had the biggest smile on her face the entire time and does a super job paying attention to her coach and tries very hard. She makes me proud regardless of her athletic ability!
Day 123: January 6, 2012
It was another cold and frosty morning. I took this macro shot in my back yard of some frosty grass.
Day 122: January 5, 2012
Another macro shot, this time of the small coin purse Grace was given. One of the teacher's aides in her class visited Thailand over the holiday break and brought back the coin purses and a coin for all the kids. Grace picked the purple one with the elephant on it, no surprise there!
Day 121: January 4, 2012
I used my macro lens to get this cool photo of the water droplet hanging on the tree branch this morning.
Day 120: January 3, 2012
Today Ethan hit a big milestone: his very first basketball practice! He was soooo excited to pull out his basketball clothes and play ball with other kids. Still need to work on paying attention to the coaches and participating for the entire 45 minutes, but he'll get there.
Day 118: January 1, 2012
I know this isn't the most exciting photo to start 2012, but after staying up late for New Years Eve and spending the whole day in the car driving home and then unpacking this was all I could muster!
