Good morning sunshine! Yet another morning I reached up to turn my alarm off with every intention to sleep another 20 minutes instead of showering and noticed the pink light hitting the neighbor's house. Pink sunrises have me hopping out of bed faster then lightning, and within minutes I was standing outside in my pajamas and slippers again looking for something to photograph in the beautiful morning light. The cherry blossom trees in the front yard fit the bill. I only got two photos before the lighting changed and the magical quality was gone. Good thing I acted fast!

Week 15: April 13
I took a photo of this same flowering tree in the rain for last year's Project 365. In the last year I've upgraded my camera body (from a Rebel XT to the 40D so not a huge jump) and 50mm lens (from 1.8 to the 1.4) but I think a year's worth of practice made the most difference. I really like this photo, it speaks spring to me!
Week 14: April 7
I waited all week for a free afternoon with decent weather to take the kids into Salem for some cherry blossom photos. We totally missed last year due to the nasty weather, and the year before we were there on a very gray and blustery day. Needless to say it's been awhile since I've had nice cherry blossom photos of the kids! We were there for a little over an hour taking photos when the sun peeked out from the clouds and playing around when the clouds took over. The kids loved looking at all the different flowers and fountains and running around to catch the falling pink petals when the breeze made them "rain" down from the trees.

Week 13: March 31
The sun has been MIA lately so I couldn't resist running outside in my slippers to take this photo when I glanced outside and saw the setting sun lighting up our seriously tall grass (sweetie, you really need to mow). Serenity.
Week 11: March 17
Happy St. Patricks Day! Of course I had to take a green photo today, and lucky for me my backyard is pretty much entirely green right now.
Week 10: March 12
A photo of my first baby, our kitty Boo. Otherwise known as Saint Boo for putting up with all kinds of child love/torture.
Week 9: March 2
The kids have been begging to play outside for awhile so one afternoon when it stopped raining I let them put on boots (you sink to your knees in our wet grass this time of year!) and play on the swing set. Ethan fell off the swing once and got a little muddy and was done. I think he lasted five minutes before he was crying at the door ready to go back inside.
