January 7: Day 365

I did it! I produced a photo every day of the year for 2010 and I have to say I feel pretty proud of myself. I wanted a grand finale for the project and I thought that ending with a self portrait (the same way I began) would be a fitting ending. So without further ado, the last photo of the 2010 Project 365:

January 6: Day 264

In an effort to avoid the late night desperate search for a suitable photographable subject I hauled myself out to brave the mucky backyard with my camera. Despite my willingness to get my shoes muddy I struck out finding something interesting to photograph. The dead of winter doesn't exactly inspire me as much as the glorious sunlight of late afternoons in the summer and fall. Still, there was some sunlight so I wandered over to the neighbor's yard and borrowed their hummingbird feeder. The pretty green glass was just what I needed for a dose of sunlight in my photography. I miss the sun!

I can't believe tomorrow is my last day of this project, the end is near!

Exposure: 1/800 sec
Aperture: f/3.2

January 5: Day 363

It occurred to me this morning that I have yet to share a photo taken with my super neglected kit lens (18-55mm that comes with all Rebels) other then my ghetto macro shots. I thought it might be a fun challenge to myself to use it instead of my trusty Tamron or nifty fifty. Naturally, I didn't get around to my photo until this evening and I was too lazy to hunt down my external flash so I fished out my super deluxe $.49 white poster board and shot this in my bathroom. Pretty much anybody could set this shot up! Since I'm missing my sweetie I chose his shaving brush as my subject. Plus I like the contrasting textures and creamy colors. So now I can say I've used all my lenses in my arsenal (the way they are intended to be used!) for this year long project.

Exposure: 1/320 sec
Aperture: f/5.6
Focal Length: 55 mm

January 4: Day 362

The cat we love to hate, Dexter. He was loving up on me while I was laying in bed trying to get his photo on the window ledge. I need more then three inches between me and my subject!

Aperture: f/2.2
Focal Length: 50 mm

January 3: Day 361

6I know, not the most interesting photo but it's almost the end and I had a LONG day of getting stuff done after being gone for 2 weeks. I deserve a break. This is an agate from the beach on our bathroom counter. I like tone on tone.

The best part about coming home after a long Christmas break? Reading all our Christmas cards!

January 1, Day 359

9I got a new roll of seamless paper for Christmas and I wanted to show my inlaws my nifty new traveling studio setup so I did some photos of them and some of Lucy, their new puppy. This one is my favorite, love the lick!
