The kids and I went to a friend's baby's first birthday party and she made the cutest cupcakes! They were tasty to boot :)

Day 205: March 28, 2012
Grace won this jar of Skittles at a rainbow birthday party by being the closest to guess how many candies were in the jar. Tasty prize!
Day 188: March 11, 2012
I waited for David to be out of town to make Friendship Stew since he's not a fan. It makes a ton so the kids and I eat it twice a day for about four days to finish it up which gets a little old, but cooking once for 8 meals is a bonus! Here's Friendship Stew served preschool style.

Day 137: January 20, 2012
David stopped by home for less than 24 hours between work trips which meant that we were able to have root beer floats and have family board game night!

Day 14: September 19, 2011
One of the reasons I wanted to start up my Project 365 again was to force myself to have my camera out more often for mundane moments like this one. Ethan helped me do our big can/bottle return (we only go once every few months) and as a reward got to pick out a doughnut to enjoy at home with Mommy. He chose a chocolate drizzled maple bar...that's my boy! This was taken in the dark kitchen at 8:30am at ISO 3200.

December 13: Day 340
I baked four dozen eggnog cookies late Monday night to take to the MOPS cookie swap Tuesday morning. I hadn't taken my photo of the day yet and I liked the shadows the cookies made on the cooling racks.

August 23: Day 228
Tonight we kicked off our MOPS year with an ice cream sundae social at the park. Both kids had a fantastic time playing with their friends they haven't seen in a while and got fantastically dirty and sticky. A total success.

August 13: Day 218
We had a fun night playing games and eating ice cream sundaes with our friends Pat and Katie. I was going to take a photo of one of the board games we were playing, but the first one was a card game and the second one was way too complicated to photograph. Ice cream it was.

August 8: Day 213
We celebrated David's 30th birthday with a boys video game weekend (which the kids and I did not attend) and some pizza and coconut cream pie (which we most definitely attended!). I lit 30 candles on his birthday pie and he managed to blow them all out in one try. Pretty impressive.

June 8: Day 152
We had a picnic on the patio for dinner before getting chased inside by raindrops. Grace had chicken nuggets and Ethan had a peanut butter and honey sandwich. Both of them had strawberry banana yogurt that I made money buying this week. It expires on June 11th but they'll eat it before then. What they won't eat I put in the freezer for a frozen yogurt treat!

May 19: Day 132
I'm still not feeling good thanks to my darling son sharing his rotavirus with me. Since I spent most of the day on the couch in my pajamas I didn't exactly get creative when I picked up my camera at dinnertime. I do have to wonder though, why is Campbells chicken noodle soup so yellow? When I make homemade chicken noodle soup (which tastes 100 times better by the way) it is nowhere near this yellow. Food dye?

May 9: Day 122
My fantastic husband grilled this yummy salmon for our Mothers Day feast this year. The salmon was grilled on a cedar plank with the yummiest salmon rub ever and topped with lemon, lime, and orange slices. It's a little taste of heaven.

April 11: Day 94
I hate taking photos at night. I was going to take a photo of the board game we played tonight and totally forgot, so once again I was stuck with roaming the house at 10pm with my camera in hand trying to find some inspiration. I walked through the house three times before I got the idea to open the refrigerator. Aha! Yogurt! So there you have it.

March 7: Day 59
Tonight we hosted our 9th Annual Oscar party, complete with all the traditional food: brokkies (sp?), hummus & homemade tortilla chips, brownies, licorice, popcorn, and fruit. Instead of chocolate covered strawberries I made some world class lemon bars. Mmmmm. If you didn't make it to the party you totally missed out!
